  • You have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes
  • You have lived in Hangzhou for at least 5 years
  • You can commit to the study plan and provide required samples
  • You are not already a vegetarian
  • You do not have serious diabetes complications (like kidney failure) or cancer
  • You are not using insulin for more than 5 years and your health/medicines are stable
