Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older when you agree to join
  • You are planning a vaginal birth with one baby (not twins)
  • You are at full term (37 weeks or more) and the baby is head-first
  • The baby’s delivery becomes shoulder dystocia, meaning a shoulder fails to come out with gentle traction and needs extra maneuvers
  • Your cervix must be fully dilated and the baby’s head must be fully out before the device is used
