Who can take part

  • You are having a C-section (cesarean birth) when your cervix is fully open (10 cm) for one study group, or at least 7 cm open for another group.
  • You are pregnant with a single baby.
  • Your baby is positioned head-down (cephalic).
  • You are at least 37 weeks pregnant.
  • You are not allergic to silicone rubber, and you do not have a major infection like herpes or an illness affecting the womb.
