Oral antibiotics to prevent bile duct inflammation after Kasai surgery

Who can take part

  • Your child had Kasai portoenterostomy at Children’s Hospital of Fudan University
  • The surgery age was between 14 and 90 days after birth
  • Your child was born after 36 weeks of pregnancy and weighed over 2 kg before surgery
  • The diagnosis is “type-III biliary atresia,” based on a scan or surgical findings
  • Liver biopsy results are available, including specific microscope stain reports
  • Your child is not allergic to the planned post-surgery medications and has not used other antibiotics or probiotics
