Who can take part
- You are scheduled for a posterior spinal fusion surgery at the neurosurgery department
- You (or your legal guardian) can understand and sign the consent form
- You do not have an active infection that is being treated before surgery
- You are not currently taking antibiotics for an infection other than the planned surgery
- You are not allergic to vancomycin or cefazolin
- Your kidney function is not severely reduced (stage 4 CKD with very low GFR 15–30 ml/min or worse)
