Who can take part

  • Your child weighs at least 3 to 5 kilograms (about 7 to 11 pounds), depending on the study phase.
  • The distance from the skin to the stomach is 3 centimeters (about 1.2 inches) or less.
  • Your child needs a feeding tube because of issues like feeding difficulties, growth problems, or bowel conditions.
  • The care team has decided that this ultrasound procedure is a good fit.
  • Your child is expected to stay in the hospital for more than 24 hours after the procedure.
  • Your child does not have certain medical conditions or devices that would make the procedure unsafe, like metal implants, bleeding problems, or recent abdominal surgery.
