  • You are between 18 and 80 years old
  • You are scheduled for elective open mid-belly surgery for vascular problems (like abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, mesenteric artery bypass, or aortobifemoral bypass)
  • You can read and speak English
  • Your overall health score (ASA) is I to IV
  • The surgery is planned at least 3 days after you are admitted to the hospital
