Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 70 years old.
  • You have a high-output enterocutaneous fistula (a hole in the gut that leaks a lot of fluid) for the first time.
  • You need nutrition through a vein (IV) because you can't eat enough by mouth.
  • You are not taking octreotide or steroids.
  • You do not have G6PD deficiency, hemochromatosis, or oxalate kidney problems.
  • You have not had any abdominal surgery in the last 6 months and have not been hospitalized for more than 15 days in the last 6 months.
