This study tests a new breath test to find early signs of lung cancer in people at high risk. It looks for cancer biomarkers in the air you breathe out. If you are a heavy smoker between 55 and 74, this trial may help detect lung cancer earlier.

Who can take part

  • You must be between 55 and 74 years old.
  • You must be a current smoker or former smoker who has smoked at least 20 pack-years (for example, 1 pack a day for 20 years).
  • You cannot have had lung cancer before.
  • You cannot have a cancer that is getting worse or being treated for symptoms.
  • You cannot have advanced dementia.
  • You cannot have COPD or another lung inflammation that is currently flaring up.
