This study uses an ultrasound test of the heart's right atrium to see if it can predict who will develop an irregular heartbeat (atrial fibrillation) after planned coronary bypass surgery. If you are scheduled for this surgery and have no history of atrial fibrillation, you may be able to join.

Who can take part
- You are 18 or older
- You are scheduled for planned (not emergency) coronary artery bypass surgery that uses a heart-lung machine
- You have never had atrial fibrillation or atrial flutter (an irregular heartbeat) before
- Your heart's pumping ability (left ventricular ejection fraction) is 50% or higher
- You do not have more than mild leakage of the tricuspid valve
