  • You are pregnant and planning to get an epidural for labor pain.
  • You meet the standard safety checks for getting an epidural.
  • Your platelet count is above 70,000 and your INR (a blood clotting test) is under 1.3.
  • You do not have any condition that makes placing the epidural unsafe.
