Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older
  • You are having laparoscopic bowel surgery with general anesthesia and will stay in the hospital
  • You are not allergic to the muscle relaxants rocuronium, vecuronium, or the reversal drug sugammadex
  • Your surgery will not result in a stoma (bag attached to your abdomen)
  • You do not have severe heart or lung conditions, and your kidney function is adequate
