Who can take part

  • You are 18 years old or older.
  • You have a serious health condition that limits your daily activities (ASA score 3 or 4).
  • You are scheduled for an outpatient ERCP procedure (a scope to look at your bile ducts).
  • You do not have a difficult airway or a nerve/muscle disorder like ALS or myasthenia gravis.
  • You are not on dialysis for kidney failure, not pregnant or breastfeeding, and not allergic to certain drugs used in the study.
