Heel lift height and foot pressure with custom braces

This study tests if changing the height of a heel lift in a custom foot brace can improve how weight is distributed on your foot after a serious ankle or hindfoot injury. If you have pain when walking, this could help find better ways to reduce that pain.

Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 65 years old
  • You had a serious injury to your hindfoot (the back part of your foot) or ankle, like a fracture or deep bruise
  • You feel pain of at least a 4 out of 10 when you put weight on your leg
  • You can walk at least 50 feet at a slow to moderate pace without using a cane or crutch
  • You can read and write in English and agree to join the study
