Who can take part

  • You are pregnant and have preeclampsia, or you are a healthy pregnant woman in a control group.
  • You are planning to deliver by cesarean section (C-section).
  • You do not have other medical conditions like chronic high blood pressure, kidney disease, or liver problems.
  • You are not carrying more than one baby (no twins, triplets, etc.).
  • If you are a healthy pregnant woman, you must be between 37 and 40 weeks pregnant.
