- You are 18 or older and have colorectal cancer with planned surgery
- You have not had major abdominal surgery before (except appendix or gallbladder removal)
- You do not have Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, or celiac disease
- You do not have a stoma, and you are not allergic to plants in the daisy family (like lettuce or artichokes)
- You are willing to follow the study diet and stop any fiber supplements or probiotics during the trial
- You can read and understand Dutch, and you don't have memory problems that would affect filling out questionnaires
