Who can take part

  • You are 18 or older
  • You have advanced kidney disease (stage 5) and your kidney function is very low
  • You have been on regular hemodialysis for at least 3 months, twice a week for 4 hours each session
  • Your blood levels of certain substances (like beta-2 microglobulin or PTH) are high
  • You are willing to sign a consent form
  • You do not have active bleeding, severe allergies to dialysis materials, or other serious health issues
