Who can take part
- You must have POEMS syndrome (new or in remission), or be newly diagnosed with multiple myeloma, MGUS, or AL amyloidosis, or be a healthy person living in the same household
- You are 18 years or older
- You are not pregnant
- You have not taken antibiotics or had a gastrointestinal endoscopy in the past 3 months
- You do not have a chronic gastrointestinal disorder or have had gastrointestinal surgery in the last 2 years
- You have not had chemotherapy, radiation, or anti-plasma cell treatment (including steroids) in the last 2 years (unless you are a healthy control)
