Who can take part

  • You need hip osteoarthritis (the main reason for hip replacement).
  • You must be scheduled for a first hip replacement with one of the two titanium cups in this study.
  • Men must be between 40 and 85 years old; women between 50 and 85.
  • You cannot have certain bone diseases, diabetes, or be on strong bone medications.
  • Your body mass index (BMI) must be between 18 and 30.
  • You must be willing to follow the study rules and not be in any other research trial.
