- You have or are suspected to have colorectal cancer, adenoma, inflammatory bowel disease, diverticulosis complications, or another condition needing colorectal surgery
- You are scheduled for a planned surgery on your colon or rectum (like a resection or stoma reversal)
- You can speak Danish, English, or a language with an interpreter, and you can give your consent
- You are not having certain other major surgeries at the same time (like liver, stomach, pancreas, kidney, or bladder removal)
- You have not been in this study before, are not pregnant, and you live in Denmark
