- You are between 18 and 75 years old.
- You have been diagnosed with colon or upper rectal cancer that can be surgically removed, and you may have chemotherapy after surgery if needed.
- Your daily activity level is mostly normal (able to care for yourself and do light activities).
- You have not used antibiotics in the last 45 days.
- You do not have active autoimmune diseases like inflammatory bowel disease or lupus, and you are not on steroids or other immune-suppressing medications.
- You are not pregnant or breastfeeding.
