Who can take part

  • You must be 18 years old or older.
  • You must have end-stage renal disease (kidney failure).
  • You are scheduled to receive a kidney from a deceased donor (someone who has passed away).
  • You cannot be pregnant.
  • You cannot have a known allergy to the study medication (thiosulfate) or its ingredients.
  • You cannot be receiving a multi-organ transplant (like kidney-pancreas) or a living donor kidney.
