Who can take part
- You need to be scheduled for an endoscopy (a procedure that looks inside your stomach and small intestine).
- Your endoscopy is to check for possible celiac disease, eosinophilic esophagitis, autoimmune enteropathy, inflammatory bowel disease, gastritis, stomach or duodenal ulcer, or acid reflux.
- You must not have a bleeding disorder that would make biopsies unsafe.
- You must not already have a serology-based (blood test) diagnosis of celiac disease according to the 2020 ESPGHAN guidelines.
- Your doctor must plan to take biopsies (small tissue samples) during the endoscopy as part of the diagnosis.
