  • You are female.
  • You are under 18 years old.
  • You have lower belly pain.
  • An ultrasound or scan suggests you might have ovarian torsion (a twisted ovary).
  • You have not had any surgery on your ovaries or fallopian tubes before.
  • Your doctor does not think your pain is from another cause like appendicitis or a stomach bug.
