This trial tests a donated human meniscus implant (Spongioflex®) for people who have lost part of the wedge-shaped cushion in their knee and have pain on that side. The goal is to replace the missing piece and relieve pain, helping you avoid or delay more serious surgery.

Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 60 years old.
  • You have a partial loss of the meniscus (cartilage cushion) in your knee, and you feel pain on the same side as the missing part.
  • Your surgeon confirms that the outer rim of the meniscus is still healthy enough to hold the implant.
  • You have not had a torn ACL that is still not repaired.
  • Your knee is not severely bent out of alignment (more than 2 degrees), and you do not have advanced arthritis or cartilage damage in the same area.
  • Your BMI is not over 30, and you are not a chronic pain patient.
