Treating a specific inner-knee cartilage and meniscus problem

This trial looks at a treatment for a specific knee alignment and tissue problem inside the inner (medial) part of your knee. It may help people whose deep-squat knee pain is caused by rubbing (“impingement”) between the femur and the back part of the medial meniscus.

Who can take part

  • You have pain, snapping, or discomfort in the back/inner part of your knee when doing a deep squat
  • Your MRI shows a shape/joint surface difference near the inner side of the thigh bone (femur) close to the knee
  • During knee endoscopy (arthroscopy), the back part of the inner meniscus is found to be getting pinched by the femur during full knee bending
  • You do not have active inflammation in the knee
  • You do not have severe cartilage damage (ICRS 3–4), or another non-knee-joint reason for your symptoms
  • You do not have a cyst or poor blood supply–type changes in the thigh-bone area where the procedure would be done
