Who can take part

  • You are 18 years old or older.
  • You are willing to provide a blood sample and let the researchers look at your white blood cells and heart enzyme levels.
  • You came to the hospital with symptoms that made your doctor suspect a possible heart attack, or you are having a heart procedure (angiogram) for a planned reason.
  • If you had a heart attack, it was confirmed by a special X-ray test (coronary angiography) within 3 days of your symptoms starting.
  • You are willing to have the study team review your medical records and test results.
