Who can take part

  • You are between 45 and 75 years old.
  • You have smoked daily for at least 10 years.
  • You have a condition that narrows or blocks your arteries (like heart disease, peripheral artery disease, or a high calcium score in your heart arteries).
  • If you don't have artery disease, you must have a smoking-related lung disease (like COPD or emphysema) or a history of cancer that was treated more than 5 years ago, or meet certain other smoking and age criteria.
  • You have not had cancer (except certain skin or early-stage cancers) in the last 5 years.
  • You do not have symptoms of lung cancer (like coughing up blood or unexplained weight loss over 7 kg in a year), or a history of lung nodules requiring follow-up.
