This study tests a treatment given before surgery for liver cancer that is at high risk of coming back. You would receive a combination of chemotherapy directly into the liver artery (HAIC), a targeted pill (lenvatinib), and an immunotherapy drug (a PD-1 inhibitor) — if a computer model predicts you might benefit.

Who can take part

  • You are 18 to 75 years old.
  • You have not had any previous treatment for your liver cancer (like surgery, chemo, or targeted therapy).
  • Your liver is still working fairly well (Child-Pugh score 7 or less).
  • You are able to take care of most daily activities on your own (ECOG 0 or 1).
  • Your liver tumor can be removed by surgery, but it is at high risk of coming back (for example, a single tumor 5 cm or larger, or multiple tumors, or the tumor has spread into nearby blood vessels but not to other organs).
  • A special computer model using your tumor tissue, scans, and genetic data predicts that you will benefit from a treatment plan of HAIC (hepatic artery infusion chemotherapy) combined with lenvatinib (a targeted pill) and a PD-1 inhibitor (immunotherapy).
