Who can take part
- You are between 50 and 80 years old
- You have age-related cataracts and are scheduled for cataract surgery with an artificial lens implant under local anesthesia
- You or someone in your family has a smartphone and can install and use the study's vision-testing app (WHOeyes) with a doctor's guidance
- Your cataract surgery goes smoothly, and the day after surgery your vision in the treated eye is at least 20/40
- You do not have other serious eye diseases (like glaucoma or uncontrolled inflammation), had no prior eye surgery on that eye, and your other chronic health conditions (like diabetes or high blood pressure) are well controlled
