Genomic risk in retroperitoneal sarcoma

Retroperitoneal LiposarcomaSoft Tissue Sarcoma

Part of Cancer clinical trials.

This study is looking at genetic risk factors in people with retroperitoneal liposarcoma who are having surgery to remove the tumor. The goal is to understand how genes affect the disease and possibly guide future treatments.

Who can take part

  • You are 18 years old or older.
  • You have been diagnosed with retroperitoneal liposarcoma, or scans show a mass that looks like liposarcoma and you are planning to have surgery to remove it.
  • You are going to have surgery to remove the tumor, either for the first time or because it has come back.
  • You have not had a prior surgery that makes it unsafe or impossible to sample other areas of the retroperitoneum.

Study of treatment for recurrent retroperitoneal liposarcoma

This study looks at how well standard treatments work for people whose liposarcoma has come back in the same area. It helps doctors understand best ways to manage this rare cancer.

Liquid biopsy for soft tissue sarcoma

This study checks if a blood test can detect DNA from soft tissue sarcomas. The goal is to see if circulating tumor DNA can help doctors monitor the disease and plan treatment.

Study of immune features in rare soft tissue sarcoma

This study looks at immune system “fingerprints” using tumor tissue from people with rare soft tissue sarcoma. It may help researchers understand what drives these cancers and guide future treatments.

Radiation before surgery for retroperitoneal soft-tissue sarcoma

This trial tests giving a shorter, lower-dose radiation treatment before surgery for a retroperitoneal (deep belly/back space) soft-tissue sarcoma. The goal is to shrink or control the tumor and make surgery more effective and safe.

Research study using removed tissue from soft-tissue sarcoma

This study looks at tissue (samples taken during diagnosis or treatment) to learn new biological and molecular clues about soft-tissue sarcoma. Participating mainly helps researchers collect usable tissue that would otherwise be discarded.

Surgery with or without chemotherapy for high-risk retroperitoneal sarcoma

This trial studies whether adding chemotherapy before surgery helps people with high-risk retroperitoneal (abdominal-area) leiomyosarcoma or liposarcoma. The goal is to improve outcomes while comparing surgery alone versus surgery plus neoadjuvant chemotherapy.
