If you have been taking prescription opioids daily for at least 3 months and have extra risk factors for opioid-related problems, this trial may offer you new ways to manage pain and reduce risks.

Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older and speak English.
  • You have taken prescription opioid pain medication daily for at least 3 months.
  • Your current daily opioid dose is equivalent to at least 20 mg of morphine.
  • You have at least one additional risk factor, such as taking benzodiazepines, having a history of overdose, or experiencing poor pain relief from opioids.
  • You do not have serious health conditions that would make participation unsafe (like unstable heart disease, certain mental health conditions, or pregnancy).
  • You are not currently taking methadone, buprenorphine, or naltrexone.
