Who can take part
- You are a woman aged 18 or older and have gone through menopause (no period for over a year, or had your ovaries removed).
- You have been newly diagnosed with ER-positive (estrogen receptor-positive), HER2-negative breast cancer that is at least 5 mm (half a centimeter) on an imaging test.
- Your cancer cells have a Ki-67 score of 10% or higher (a measure of how fast the cells are dividing).
- You are scheduled for surgery to remove the breast cancer.
- You are not currently taking hormone therapy (like an aromatase inhibitor or tamoxifen) or any medicinal mushrooms.
- Your blood counts and liver/kidney function are within a healthy range (checked within the last 90 days).
