Who can take part
- You have head and neck cancer that is HPV-negative (any age over 18) or HPV-positive with a history of heavy smoking and advanced lymph node spread (age over 40).
- You are scheduled to receive chemotherapy and radiation therapy together with a platinum-based chemo drug.
- You have a recent tumor sample (less than 8 weeks old) that can be tested for a protein called PARP1.
- At least one tumor is 10 mm or larger on imaging.
- You are in good enough health to be up and about (ECOG score 0-2) and have a life expectancy longer than 3 months.
