Who can take part

  • You are 18 years old or older.
  • You have been diagnosed with Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis (confirmed by a biopsy).
  • You are scheduled for surgery to remove part of your intestine because of complications from your IBD.
  • You have already agreed to let your tissue samples be stored in the IBD Biobank for future research.
