This study is for people with arm or shoulder problems who are afraid of moving because they worry about pain or injury. Researchers want to test a new questionnaire that measures this fear, so they can better understand and help patients like you.

Who can take part

  • You have a current injury, arthritis, or other condition in your shoulder, arm, or hand.
  • You have a high fear of moving or re-injuring your arm (measured by a questionnaire).
  • You are able to understand and follow instructions (checked by a simple mental test).
  • You have not had cancer, and you are not taking painkillers or psychiatric medication during the study.
  • You have not had physiotherapy for your arm in the last 6 months, and you finished at least secondary school (high school).
