Who can take part
- You must be 18 years old or older.
- You need to have enough firm, attached gum tissue (keratinized tissue) at the implant site – your dentist can measure this.
- You must be generally healthy (no uncontrolled diabetes, bleeding disorders, or other serious health problems).
- You must have a history of periodontitis (advanced gum disease).
- The bone in your jaw where the implant goes must be either 6 to 9 mm tall (for a short implant) or more than 9 mm tall (for a standard implant).
- You cannot be pregnant or breastfeeding, nor can you be on certain bone medications (bisphosphonates) or have had radiation to the head/neck.
