Who can take part

  • Your baby must be born between 28 weeks and 31 weeks + 6 days of pregnancy.
  • You (or the legal guardian) need to give written permission before the baby is born.
  • Your baby should not have had a severe lack of oxygen at birth (pH below 7.1).
  • Your baby must not have a major birth defect or serious heart/lung problems.
  • Your baby must not be expected to need only comfort (palliative) care.
