Who can take part

  • Your baby must be a preterm infant who is stable, with normal blood pressure and heart rate for their age.
  • Birth weight must be less than 1500 grams (about 3.3 pounds).
  • Your baby must be in the NICU at Sunnybrook and already using nasal CPAP support for at least 48 hours.
  • Your baby must need less than 35% oxygen while on CPAP.
  • Your baby must not have certain gut, lung, or heart problems, and must not be on certain medications or have recent infections.
