Who can take part

  • Your baby was born between 22 weeks and 30 weeks of pregnancy.
  • Your baby has been on a breathing machine (ventilator) for at least 4 hours.
  • This is the first time they will be moved off the machine to a gentler support called CPAP.
  • Your baby does not have a major heart, lung, or stomach problem, or a genetic syndrome that affects breathing.
  • You or the legal guardian can give permission for the study.
