Who can take part

  • You have ulcerative colitis, IBD of the colon type, or Crohn's disease affecting at least one-third of your colon.
  • Your IBD has been present for at least 8 years (or you have other risk factors like primary sclerosing cholangitis, a history of abnormal cell growth, or a family history of colon cancer).
  • You are scheduled for a routine colonoscopy specifically to check for dysplasia (abnormal cells that might lead to cancer).
  • You have never had colorectal cancer, and any past abnormal growths (like dysplasia or sessile serrated adenomas) have been fully removed.
  • You have not had a colonoscopy for dysplasia surveillance in the last 11 months (unless that colonoscopy was incomplete or found no problems).
