Who can take part

  • You are between 21 and 75 years old.
  • You have severe major depression (confirmed by a doctor or a score of 17 or higher on a depression scale).
  • You have tried at least 2 different antidepressants from different classes without success.
  • You have tried at least 2 additional treatments (like therapy or other medications, but not benzodiazepines) without success.
  • You have tried an effective type of talk therapy for a good length of time.
  • You are willing to attend all treatment and study visits.
  • You do not have certain health conditions (like epilepsy, dementia, a recent stroke, or metal implants near your head).
