Who can take part

  • You have a confirmed Staphylococcus aureus infection in your blood (bacteremia).
  • The infection is causing serious symptoms like fever, fast heart rate, or low blood pressure.
  • You are not in palliative care (comfort-focused care) for this infection.
  • Your blood culture did not show other types of bacteria besides Staph aureus.
  • You are expected to live more than 2 days after the infection is detected.
