Who can take part

  • You have a confirmed Staphylococcus aureus bloodstream infection.
  • You have received 3 to 7 days of the right IV antibiotics and the infection is cleared (negative blood culture).
  • You have been fever-free for 2 days.
  • You do not have signs of infection spreading to other parts of the body (like heart, bones, or organs).
  • You do not have severe kidney disease, severe liver disease, or a weakened immune system.
