Who can take part

  • You are 45 years or older and have cataracts in both eyes that need surgery.
  • You have regular astigmatism (1.00 to 2.00 diopters) that can be corrected with a special lens.
  • Before cataracts, you had good vision (20/25 or better) in each eye.
  • Your pupils can dilate to at least 7 mm (about the size of a pencil eraser) in both eyes.
  • You do not have other serious eye conditions like glaucoma, macular degeneration, severe dry eye, or a history of certain eye infections or surgeries.
