Who can take part

  • You are 18 to 80 years old.
  • You either have diabetes (type 1, type 2, or gestational) and check your blood sugar with finger pricks, OR you are at high risk for diabetes (e.g., overweight, over 45, family history, etc.).
  • You can test your own blood sugar with a standard glucose meter.
  • You do not have nerve damage, chronic pain, or numbness in your fingers.
  • You are not taking strong painkillers or narcotics (including within the last 4 hours).
