Who can take part
- You must be between 8 and 18 years old at the time of surgery.
- You must weigh 40 kilograms (about 88 pounds) or more.
- You are scheduled for either an ACL reconstruction or an MPFL reconstruction knee surgery.
- This must be your first surgery on that knee (not a revision) and only one knee is being operated on.
- You are not having general anesthesia for the surgery.
- You do not have any pre-existing nerve problems, chronic pain, or allergies to the study medications.
