Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 65 years old.
  • You have never taken treatment to get rid of H. pylori before.
  • You have tested positive for H. pylori (through a biopsy, breath test, or stool test).
  • If you are over 40 years old, have warning symptoms, or have a family history of stomach cancer, you must have had a stomach scope (endoscopy) before starting treatment.
  • You have not taken antibiotics or bismuth in the last 4 weeks, or acid-reducing drugs in the last 2 weeks.
  • You do not have a serious stomach ulcer with bleeding, a past esophagus or stomach surgery, or a known allergy to the study drugs.
