Who can take part

  • You are at least 50 years old.
  • You have either early or intermediate dry age-related macular degeneration (AMD), geographic atrophy (a more advanced form of dry AMD), or are willing to be in a control group with healthy eyes.
  • You do not have other serious eye problems, such as dense cataracts, glaucoma needing treatment, or previous eye laser or surgery.
  • You do not have conditions that would make it hard to do vision tests, like rapid eye movements (nystagmus) or very severe nearsightedness (myopia worse than -8 diopters).
