Preventing PTSD after a car crash with a dissolving tablet

This study tests a dissolving tablet (cyclobenzaprine) placed under the tongue to see if it can help prevent PTSD and reduce pain symptoms after a car accident. You would take the medication for 14 days and be followed for about 8 weeks.

Who can take part

  • You were in a car accident within the last 3 days and are now in the emergency room.
  • You are between 18 and 55 years old.
  • You have a smartphone and email that you check regularly.
  • Your pain level is at least 4 out of 10.
  • You are not pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning pregnancy, and if you could become pregnant, you agree to use effective birth control for the first 21 days.
  • You do not have certain heart problems, liver or kidney issues, or take specific medications (like some antidepressants or painkillers).
